Is this the ultimate selfie?

Professional photographer Gareth Iwan Jones may have just taken the ‘ultimate selfie’.

The well known snapper posted this short clip to his social media account, which takes the boring old selfie to the next level.

Instead of a still image, the photographer took stunning drone footage showing him and his wife laying on the deserted Cofete Beach on the Spanish island of Fuerteventura. The drone camera then pans out over a seemingly endless beach at the foot of the 800m high mountains of Jandia.

The drone selfie was taken with a DJI Mavic Pro.

‘Windy Island’ Fuerteventura forms part of the Canary Islands. The Atlantic island sits 100km off the north coast of Africa and is a popular holiday destination due to its white-sand beaches and year-round warmth. However, head to the Parque Natural de Jandía and you’ll find eerie and wild Cofete beach. The deserted and mysterious Cofete may be dangerous for bathing, but can’t be beaten for views and atmosphere.
