Octopus goes viral as it fights back vlogger trying to eat it alive

Why a Chinese vlogger thought it a good idea to livestream herself eating an octopus alive is a mystery.

But as you can see the octopus didn’t intend to make it easy for her and fought back using the suckers on its tentacles – which tend to stick to stuff.

Tentacles have hundreds of suckers which can stick onto objects powerfully enough to open shellfish.

The video of the food vlogger known as ‘seaside girl Little Seven’ went viral after a backlash on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.

Animal lovers around the world said the vlogger got her just desserts as the octopus appeared to bite back.

“My face is disfigured,” she reportedly sobs, before informing viewers she will “eat it in the next video”.

Cephalopod expert Jennifer Mather, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta explained to Vice that an octopus can “anticipate a painful, difficult, stressful situation – they can remember it” –  so that might not be that advisable.
