Huge Harvey Weinstein effigy unveiled by Edenbridge Bonfire Society

Harvey Weinstein is to be this year’s effigy burned by the Edenbridge Bonfire Society.

The society has become renowned in recent years for burning effigies of controversial figures such as Donald Trump, Sepp Blatter and Katie Hopkins.

The fire will be lit on Saturday night to raise money for local charities, with more than 10,000 people expected to attend the annual event.

Weinstein is currently being investigated by UK and US police over sexual assault allegations.

Italian actress Asia Argento recently tweeted a list of 93 women who have alleged that Weinstein sexually harassed or assaulted – in some instances, raped – them.

Argento alleged that Weinstein raped her, although his rep has repeatedly said in a statement that ‘any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.’
