Two Conservative candidates in the European elections have said they will not be voting for their own party, according to Sky News correspondent Lewis Goodall.
Conservative sources have revealed candidates on one of the party’s regional lists are in fact voting for the Brexit party in the elections.
Polling for Nigel Farage’s new party has surged again today, with latest indications suggesting they could take up to 30 per cent of the vote, up two points.
The next closest rival is Labour on 21 per cent of the vote, followed by the Conservatives (13 per cent) and Lib Dems (10 per cent).
Change UK, formerly the Independent Group, is currently polling at nine per cent, highlighting the fractured nature of the Remain vote in the elections.
Earlier today the Brexit Party announced it will be running in the Peterborough by-election, and are well fancied by the bookmakers.
Betway rates the Brexit Party as 13/8 second-favourites to triumph in the Leave-voting city, with Farage 2/1 to put himself forward as the candidate.
