Botswana government responds to “racist” Trump calling African nations “shithole countries”

The Government of Botswana has today made public a press release condemning Donald Trump’s alleged terming of African nations as “shithole countries”.

According to reports Trump expressed frustration behind closed doors with people coming to the US from places such as Africa and Haiti.

He said: “Why do we want all these people from ‘shithole countries’ coming here?”

A statement released by the government in Botswana has moved to ridicule the comments, calling them “highly irresponsible, reprehensible and racist”.

It reads: “The Government of Botswana is wondering why President Trump, must use this descriptor and derogatory word, when talking about countries with whom the US has had cordial and mutually beneficial bilateral relations for so many years.

“Botswana has accepted US citizens within her borders over the years and continues to host US guests and senior government officials, including a Congressional delegation that will come to Botswana at the end of this month; that is why we view the utterances by the current American president as highly irresponsible, reprehensible and racist.”

Trump has since denied the accusations though others from both Democrat and Republican parties present confirm his offensive comments.

This press release is brilliant:
