Best Cities for a Pay Rise in 2016

Yorkshire powerhouse Leeds has been revealed as the best city for a payrise in 2016 according to new data.

CV-Library stats show salaries grew by 4.7 per cent in Leeds last year, with its county neighbour Sheffield close by with growth of 4.2 per cent.

London saw a 2.5 per cent growth in advertised salaries in 2015 compared with 2014, coming in fourth on the list of top ten salary growers. Proving to be among the best off in the UK when it comes to rising wages, the average annual salary in London jumped from £36,523.08 in 2014 to £37,443.46 in 2015.

In addition to impressive salary growth, the city also celebrated strong job growth in 2015 with a 22.4 per cent increase in jobs when compared with 2014. While this comes in just below the nation’s overall job growth of 23.5%, it does place the city in a strong position going into 2016.
