Cobra rescued after spending four days with it’s head stuck in a beer can

Vets saved a cobra which had been stuck inside a can of beer for four days.

The highly venomous reptile had been crashing around the inside of an abandoned water tank with its head stuck inside an empty can of Budweiser.

The terrified snake had almost slit its own throat and vets painstakingly cut away the metal and performed a two-hour op to stitch it back to health.

The thirsty cobra found in the tank in Bhubaneshwar city in the southern Indian state of Odisha is expected to make a full recovery in around a month.

Rescuer Prof Biswajit Jena at the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, said: “The cobra will be completely fine in one month.

“If need be the snake may undergo another surgery but it is out of danger now.”
