By Jonathan Hatchman, Food Editor, @TLE_Food

Fresh from her work as a judge on the recent series of BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals, Chef Monica Galetti has taken over the Searcys – the restaurant at the top of 30 St Mary’s Axe AKA. The Gherkin for a unique dining experience.

Taking place throughout the rest of January until mid-February, the Chef’s residency within the renowned London landmark is heavily inspired by Monica’s passion for seasonal ingredients, thus providing a strong focus on the very best Winter produce, with a menu that will be overseen by Searcys at The Gherkin Head Chef Renee Miller. The set menu will feature three-courses priced at £45/£55 for lunch and dinner respectively, and choices will include the likes of black curry scallops, short rib of beef, pumpkin tart, and puddings such as Guinness and ginger float.

Monica says of the experience: “I am delighted to create a special menu for Searcys The Gherkin, which is such an iconic landmark in London. Inside and outside the building you can appreciate the stunning architecture, which makes it an inspiring place for a private member’s club and restaurant. It is an exciting concept to create a menu for a limited public opening of this interesting venue.”

Open for a limited time, this experience looks set to become very popular so it’s advised to book well in advance so not to miss out. Full dates and availability can be found at searcys.co.uk/the-gherkin.
