GALLERY: Protomartyr deliver blue-collar gloom in central London

Protomartyr have never heard of final-night lethargy. Tonight’s Scala crowd have packed themselves in for a show, and Joe Casey and his crew or hangdog punks are going to give it to them.

The band came for a whistlestop tour of the UK last week in support of their latest EP, Consolation, and to give some of their freshest cuts an airing in front of a devoted audience. The results did not disappoint, with latest single ‘Wheel of Fortune’ delivered with urgency and dripping with ire, while ‘My Children’ and ‘Don’t Go to Anacita’ remain firm fan favourites.

TLE were there to catch every scathing syllable and post punk sway as the Detroit natives closed out their visit in style.

Consolation E.P. is available to pre-order now on limited pressing yellow/white starburst vinyl via Domino, and limited pressing gold vinyl via your local independent record store.
