Jurys Inn Croydon – Review

With 240 stylish bedrooms, four star luxury and London’s attractions (almost) on your doorstep – the Jurys Inn Croydon is perfect for a fun-packed break or comfy business stay.

The hotel is a four minute stroll from bustling East Croydon Station, where regular services will take you to explore the capital via London Bridge or London Victoria in just 17 minutes.

If you don’t want to venture into town, the Whitgift Centre is over the road, boasting 130 shops including family favourites like Marks and Spencer and House of Fraser.

The hotel’s restaurant is a world away from standard chain hotel fare. We plumped for the award-winning Tom’s steak and ale pie (£14), a flaky delight with a rich filling – and the Tempura battered Halloumi and chips with a dollop of pesto mayonnaise (£14.50).

An array of burgers, stir fries and artisan pizzas mean guests are spoilt for choice.

In the room itself we were treated to a decent size flatscreen TV with Freeview, a bed which was roomy and soft, and a delightful finished en suite bathroom.

In the morning the breakfast buffet set us up perfectly for the day ahead with the hash browns, crispy rashers and pastries among the highlights.

The service, cleanliness and comfort was second to none. And we were pleased to find the WiFi was speedy and free – certainly not a given in many hotels near the capital these days.

*Rooms from £70 per night. Visit jurysinn.com for more information.
