Chelsea star Olivier Giroud has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding four times in less than nine months.
The World Cup winning striker clocked doing 60 miles per hour in a 50mph zone in his £150,000 Bentley last May.
Premier League star Giroud, 32, was caught speeding four times between February and November last year, magistrates heard.
The French international, who was not present for the hearing at Willesden Magistrates Court, had three penalty points added to his licence after pleading guilty to the offence, taking his total to 12.
He was banned from the road for six months, fined £600 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 as well as costs of £85.
Giroud, who is understood to earn at least £85,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, was given 14 days to pay up.
The court heard that Giroud, who lives in Battersea, south London, was snared by a speed camera in Willesden, north west London, doing 60mph in a 50mph zone along the A406 on May 2 last year.
Willesden Magistrates’ Court moved the former Arsenal player’s case from its listed slot in the afternoon to morning at the last minute.
Giroud did not attend court but was represented by Mark Haslam of BCL Solicitors.
A clerk confirmed Mr Haslam approached her and suggested the case be moved to the morning as Giroud was not going to attend, and that he was mistakenly told by the court the hearing was listed for the morning.
She said: “The lawyer phoned and had been told the case was listed for the morning – I don’t know who spoke to him, but I was informed by him that he was told it was in the morning.
“The defendant was not going to attend; this is standard practice.”
