‘What it means to be British’ video goes viral again

A viral video that perfectly encapsulates what it means to be British has been doing the rounds on social media again – and it’s not difficult to see why.

Ahead of the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester Suella Braverman declared that multiculturalism had “failed” in the UK, describing it as a “misguided dogma” that has allowed people to come to the country with the aim of “undermining the stability and threatening the security of society”.

Setting out the “civic argument” against illegal migration, the home secretary said: “Uncontrolled immigration, inadequate integration and a misguided dogma of multiculturalism have proven a toxic combination for Europe over the last few decades.

“Multiculturalism makes no demands of the incomer to integrate. It has failed because it allowed people to come to our society and live parallel lives in it. They could be in the society but not of the society.”

A summary of what it means to be British has popped up on social media on the back of the comments, and it perfectly puts to bed anything that the home secretary might have you believe.
