Watch: French Police Attacked During Anti-Hatred Demonstrations

A French police car was attacked and set alight during a protest by the police denouncing “anti-cop hatred”.

The police say they have suffered in two months of protests against labour reforms which would make it easier for employers to hire and fire workers., with some 350 members of the security forces injured so far including one who lost the use of an eye.

Police demonstrated in central Paris against the wave of attacks, only to be met with more force from activists. A police car was torched and policemen attacked after the demonstrators were denied permission to stage a counter-demonstration against police violence in the same square ahead of the rally.

The officers were forced to abandon the car when a smoke bomb was thrown inside by people chanting “police everywhere, justice nowhere”.
