Ofcom has launched two investigations into GB News after thousands of people complained to the regulator over anti-LGBT comments made by guests.
On one occasion, an ultra-conservative commentator appeared to link Pride parades with paedophilia and bestiality, comments that drew condemnation from Green Party leader Zack Polanski.
On 5 July, Caroline Farrow appeared on Alex Armstrong Tonight show for a discussion about the Pride in London march that month.
Farrow describes herself as a Catholic commentator and is from the ultra-conservative lobby group CitizenGO, hich campaigns against abortion and LGBTQ+ rights.
During her appearance on the programme, Farrow claimed Pride is “not about gay rights” and had become “about celebrating every single sexuality that isn’t heterosexuality”.

She went on to say this included “bestiality and even minor-attracted, they call themselves minor-attracted people, you know, paedophiles”.
Her comments were challenged by host Armstrong, who said “the overwhelming amount of people at pride were there for good reasons”.
Following the show’s broadcast, an open letter was signed by Green Party leader Zack Polanski and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Bimini, who called out the “dangerous” disinformation.
The Good Law Project filed a complaint with Ofcom over Farrow’s remarks, and they were joined by more than 12,000 people who complained to the regulator.
This is thought to be a record for individual complaints about a GB News programme, the Guardian reports.
Ofcom has since confirmed to the publication that is investigating the show over potential breaches of broadcasting standards.
This isn’t the only investigation the regulator has opened into GB News. Ofcom also received 3,000 about comments made on GB News’s The Saturday Five in June.
On this occasions, right-wing influencer Based and Bougie claimed that gay men are “more prone” to “sexual deviancy” and “child sexual assault with their adopted children”.
Both programmes have been removed from GB News’s YouTube channel.
These incidents come after a similar scandal in January 2025, when GB News presenter Josh Howie spoke about “the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ persons… that includes paedos”.
After receiving 71,500 complaints over this, Ofcom investigated but took no action because GB News had apologised and broadcast a fuller discussion about the context of the comment within two-and-a-half weeks of the original programme.
Reacting to the news of Ofcom’s investigations, Good Law Project lawyer Matthew Gill said the “hateful trope” about LGBTQ+ people broadcast by GB News “puts the community at risk”.
“When GB News tried to make a link between LGBTQ+ people and paedophilia before,” Gill said, “Ofcom found the broadcast was highly offensive and yet did nothing about it. The regulator must impose meaningful sanctions to stop this rogue channel repeating these vicious lies again and again.”
