Odds on David Davis to resign plummet as he becomes favourite to go next

David Davis is favourite to leave Theresa May’s cabinet next.

Odds on the Brexit Minister resigning plummeted from from 8/1 to 2/1 today.

With cabinet tensions over customs plans reported to be boiling over, Davis looks to be in line to go next according to the latest betting data.

May has also been cut into 5/1 from 6/1 to hold her hands up and step down before anyone else in the government, while Chris Grayling has come in from 6/1 to 9/2 after announcing intentions to lay down a third runway at Heathrow.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “There’s been a few changes in the next minister to resign betting already this week but the most recent move for David Davis to step down is the most significant for some time.

“As Brexit Secretary, Davis was always in a tricky spot and cautiously priced at 8/1, but there now seems to be a real crisis brewing in Theresa May’s government and he’s into 2/1 to be the next to walk.

“With Boris Johnson squirming over Heathrow and Davis unhappy with progress on Brexit, Theresa May could yet be the one to take full ministerial responsibility and step down first at 5/1.”

Next Minister to Resign:

David Davis 2/1
Chris Grayling 9/2
Theresa May 5/1
Boris Johnson 6/1
BAR 14/1
