A man accused of terrorism after he joined Kurdish militia in 2017 to fight against Islamic State in Syria will go on trial next year.
Aidan James, 28, denies one count of preparing for acts of terrorism and two counts of preparing for acts of terrorism by going to training camps in Syria and Mahkmur in Iraq.
The Scouser was due to stand trial in November but it was adjourned.
At a hearing at the Old Bailey today (Weds), a provisional trial date was set for April 1.
Mr Justice Andrew Edis will preside over the trial and both the crown and the defence will be represented by QC’s.
Mr Edis said: “At least some progress has been made today so that the trial will now take place in April of next year and there’s therefore a date for him to know when things will be resolved.”
James, of Formby in Merseyside, will next appear at Old Bailey for his trial on April 1.
