Sweeten up the Tube Strike with Free Chocolate

By Nathan Lee, TLE Correspondent

Londoners affected by the planned tube strike on Thursday have the chance to sweeten the day up with  complimentary chocolate delivered straight to their home or office within 10 minutes.

Gett, an on-demand app that lets you instantly book a licensed black cab with your mobile phone, will be offering Londoners free Cadbury chocolate as a reward for those that made it into the office. Users will be able to order a sharing bag of ‘Cadbury Twirl Bites’ via the app, complimentary for one day only, on Thursday 6th August from 10am – 3pm.

‘Gett Chocolate’ will be available for those based in and around Shoreditch, Clerkenwell, the City, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Belgravia and Kensington, and will be delivered on motorbikes by London’s famous ‘knowledge boys’ who are licensed taxi drivers in the making, studying to take the infamous knowledge test that all aspiring black cab drivers have to pass before they are qualified.

Gett’s fully ‘knowledge’ trained taxi drivers will therefore, all be available to get Londoners to their desired destinations during the tube strikes. Gett is proud to continue supporting the black cab trade by partnering with ‘knowledge boys’ in addition to working exclusively with black cab drivers for the safe and professional transportation service that remains at the heart of the business.

The launch of ‘Gett Chocolate’ follows Gett’s debut product category announcement – “Gett Clicquot”, offering users on-demand Champagne delivered to select London locations within 10 minutes. This service allows users to order a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot with two Champagne flutes, supplied by Amathus UK Ltd.

Gett UK CEO, Remo Gerber says “We understand that the tube strikes can cause extra stress and hassle for many Londoners travelling around the city. This is a fantastic opportunity to offer our users something that will truly brighten up their day. We are delighted to be getting Londoners free chocolate with a simple tap of the Gett app.”

“We’re, of course, keeping our popular Gett Taxi with a ‘no surge’ promise and a ‘100% black cab’ guarantee in London, as the core of the business. Gett Taxis will be readily available during the tube strike with fares remaining the same as usual. We think that’s only fair for our passengers” Gerber added.

Users are encouraged to share their images tagging @Gett_UK on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #GettChoc.

‘Gett Chocolate’ is available via the Gett app on Thursday 6th August from 10am – 3pm and is free to download on iOS and Android.
