Woman rushed to hospital in serious condition after being shot at house

Police are hunting for a gunman after a woman was shot at a house on a leafy residential street.

The victim was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being blasted in the shoulder on Dovehouse Lane in Olton, Solihull, West Mids.

Emergency services attended the scene, which is near to Jaguar Land Rover’s Lode Lane, factory, after being called at 8.49am.

Detectives have now launched a manhunt for the offender but believe the shooting is an isolated incident.

Forensic investigators could be seen today painstakingly examining the cordoned off street, where property prices average £500,000, throughout the morning.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating after a woman was shot in the shoulder at a house on Dovehouse Lane in Solihull.

“The woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

“The incident was reported at 8.49am this morning (18 December). No arrests have been made, but officers believe this is an isolated incident.

“Our main priority is the safety and security of the public; specialist officers are in the area and local schools have been advised accordingly.”

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson added: “We were called by West Midlands Police to Dove House Lane, Solihull at 8.50am this morning.

“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended. One woman received treatment on scene for serious injuries before being taken by land ambulance to hospital.”
