Lord Cooper, a Conservative peer, took to Twitter to attack Boris Johnson. He didn’t pull any punches claiming the ex-foreign sec of ‘moral emptiness,’ racism and ‘courting fascism.’
Mr Cooper, who previously worked as an aide to ex-PM David Cameron, was reacting to Johnson’s recent newspaper article where he compared women wearing burqas to “letterboxes” and “bank robbers.”
Donald Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon has praised Boris Johnson, he told the Sunday Times Johnson had “nothing to apologise for”
Bannon said: “Boris just needs to be Boris – true to his nature and his calling – and I think he has potential to be a great prime minister, not a good one.”
An abnormal spike in anti-Muslim abuse aimed at women wearing the hijab and niqab has been recorded by the government-backed hate crime monitoring group Tell Mama.
The rottenness of Boris Johnson goes deeper even than his casual racism & his equally casual courting of fascism. He will advocate literally anything to play to the crowd of the moment. His career is a saga of moral emptiness & lies; pathetic, weak & needy; the opposite of strong

More worrying is the staggering decline in independent, investigative journalism. It costs a lot to produce, so many publications facing an uncertain future can no longer afford to fund it.
With nobody to hold the rich and powerful to account, or report on the issues that don't fit with their 'narrative', your help is needed.
You can help support free, independent journalism for as little as 50p. Every penny we collect from donations supports vital investigative and independent journalism.
