Holocaust revisionist who sang songs about Auschwitz being like a theme park launches appeal

Alison Chabloz, 54, sang antisemitic songs that included lyrics calling Auschwitz “a theme park” at a meeting of the far-right London Forum group, whose leader Jeremy Bedford-Turner has been separately jailed for stirring up racial hatred.

One song mocks holocaust survivors Irene Zisblatt and Elie Wiezel, insinuating their accounts were made up to make money and questions the authorship of Anne Frank’s diary.

In lyrics to her song entitled “Nemo’s Anti-Semitic Universe” Chabloz branded Auschwitz a “theme park” and gas chambers a “hoax” and described the holocaust as a “Holohoax”.

Now the ‘holocaust revisionist’ found guilty of posting “grossly offensive” holocaust-denial videos saying Auschwitz was “like a theme park” has launched an appeal

See describes herself as a ‘holocaust revisionist’ and maintained her innocence during her trial at Westminster Magistrates’ Court last year.

But a District Judge ruled her music videos, with lyrics that claim the Jewish community have exaggerated or made-up claims about the Holocaust during the Second World War, were “grossly offensive” and she was convicted of three counts of improper use of a communications network.

The convictions relate to posts on her blog linking to two 44 minute videos of two songs performed at the meeting of The London Forum.

She also posted a video of a third song directly onto YouTube entitled “I like the story as it is – SATIRE” which she performs with a guitar in front of a microphone.

Chabloz was sentenced to a 20-week jail term suspended for two weeks and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work.

Sentencing her at Westminster Magistrates District Judge John Zani said: “There is unacceptable hostility that you demonstrate in each the songs in question.

“It appears to this court that no proper remorse has been forthcoming from you.”

Chabloz, of Glossop, Derbyshire is now appealing her conviction in front of a crown court judge and lay magistrate at Southwark Crown Court.

She appeared today sporting a badge depicting a white power symbol, with a large group of supporters who packed the public gallery.

Adrian Davis, who defended Chabloz in the lower court said: “There’s a very high hurdle to be crossed to show what Ms Chabloz has done is beyond what she’s entitled to do.

“I simply ask the court to find that however offensive Miss Chabloz must have been to some, they do not cross the line to grossly offensive.

“The court cannot be certain so it’s sure that they are so, and in that case she must be acquitted.”

Mr Davis told the court Chabloz should also be acquitted because although she shared a link to the songs on her personal blog – this was with a view to only share them with people who shared her beliefs.

The barrister claims there was ‘minimal risk’ of anyone finding the video on YouTube unless they were specifically looking for it.

He said: “All she does is put up the URL.

“The only thing that can be in the contemplation of someone who uploads their work to Youtube, be it offensive or inoffensive, is that those who are interested in the work of the musician or whoever it may be will look for it and access it.

“There’s no obvious risk of random members of the public coming across material posted on YouTube.

“Those who are already sympathetic to her interests and in her would access the material. The prospect of some random person accessing it was minimal.”

James Mulholland QC, prosecuting, said: “Abuse of a group of people for totalitarian reasons is not covered by Article 10.

“‘A theme park just for fools’ goes beyond a comment and into the area, without a doubt, of grossly offensive. It’s suggesting this is a whole industry created out of a fiction.

“That the entire Jewish people who survived the Holocaust are lying and creating this fiction and creating a theme park that is based on a lie.

“There can be no doubt there’s a full intention to offend in a gross manner.”
