Cops hunting Docklands serial sex attacker of 9 women arrest 13 year old

A six-foot 13-year-old has been arrested after nine women were sexually assaulted in east London.

Detectives released CCTV of the suspect after a series of attacks involving sexual touching were reported over a five week period around Poplar, Limehouse and Canary Wharf.

The young teenager, described as six-foot, black and of heavy build, was arrested on November 1 after handing himself into to a local police station.

The suspect was riding a bike at the time of attacks.

He has since been bailed to a date in late November pending further enquiries.

The attacks, which took place between Thursday, September 6, and Thursday, October 11, all happened between 6.30pm and 8.40pm.

A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives investigating a series of sexual assaults in the E14 area have made an arrest.

“A 13-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday, November 1 after attending an east London police station.

“He has since been bailed to a date in late November pending further enquiries.

“The arrest follows an appeal for information after nine women were sexually assaulted over a five-week period in the E14 area, particularly around Blackwall Way.

“The attacks, which involved sexual touching, took place between Thursday, September 6, and Thursday, October 11, and were all between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.40pm.

“Extra patrols continue in the area to reassure the public. Officers urge anyone, especially women who are walking alone, to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.”
