A 21-year-old man stabbed in a north London street by a gang has died overnight, the 39th murder in the capital this year.
The man was knifed just after 9pm and staggered into a bookies in Harlesden. Medics rushed him to hospital but he died just hours later at 2.47am.
Murder cops are quizzing seven men in connection with the suburban killing last night.
Paramedics called police to the High Street bookies iin north west London at 9.07pm.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “He is thought to have been attacked by a group of men before fleeing into a bookmaker’s to seek help.
“Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 9.07pm on Tuesday to High Street, Harlesden, following reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended. A 21-year-old man was found suffering from stab wounds.
“He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he was pronounced dead at 2.47am.
“Seven men have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently in custody.”
The murder victim has not been formally named but his next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
