Police hunting crooks caught creeping up behind pensioner before stealing purse

Police are on the look-out for heartless crooks after they stalked a pensioner and stole her purse.

Officers from the Northamptonshire force have released cctv of the incident in an effort to identify two men.

The theft took place on January 5 when the woman entered a shop on Corporation Street, Corby, Northants, at 11.50am.

Footage shows one of the men reach around the woman and remove her purse from her coat pocket – the other appears to hide his actions from a passersby.

The victim realised her purse was missing when she reached the store’s tills.

It is thought she was followed to the store after making a withdrawal from a nearby bank’s cash machine.

Anyone with information about the identity of either of the men pictured is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Alternatively information can also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers, call 0800 555111 quoting incident number 19000006016.
