Taking services away from public organisations threatens their viability and the private companies are not usually interested in the tricky stuff- anyone really want to run a A+E department?
Labour must liberate welfare from the political closet and build a politics for the future: a democratised participative public economy and a responsive and responsible market sector.
While states are castigated for ‘borrowing’ money, the private sector can mire itself deeper and deeper into debt, often for highly speculative activities.
Debt and inflation work very differently for those who are not wealthy.
