When will Leicester wrap up the title?

With a seven-point lead with just three games to go, it now looks more a case of when, not if, for Leicester in their bid to complete what has been a fairytale season in the Premier League with a title win.

The Foxes were 5000/1 with the bookmakers to win the Premier League before the season got under way. They have gone from a team who were nearly relegated 12 months ago to the best team in English football.

Tottenham’s recent draw at home to West Brom comes as a huge blow to Spurs’ title ambitions and means they lost further ground on the league leaders. The North London club are the only team in the Premier League who can mathematically catch the top-placed side.

Leicester can now wrap up the title with a win at Old Trafford in their next game. When this article was produced, the Foxes could be backed at football betting odds of 12-5 to defeat Manchester United in that tie and that would ensure the league is won with two games to spare.

Even if Leicester do not win in Manchester, Tottenham have to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the London derby to keep their hopes alive.

Claudio Ranieri’s men will be without top goalscorer Jamie Vardy for the trip to Old Trafford.

The England international was given an additional one-game suspension for his misconduct during his sending off against West Ham.

Ranieri will be pleased with the way Leonardo Ulloa filled his boots with a brace in their recent 4-0 victory over Swansea.

If Leicester can’t get the job done in the next round of Premier League fixtures, they will get a good chance to do so in their home time against Everton.

The Toffees have nothing to play for now they are out of the FA Cup following their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley. Many of their players may therefore already have their eyes on the summer for their holidays.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has come under pressure from his home fans, who have been really disappointed with the way their team has fared this season. He will be desperate for a result against the Foxes to try and keep his job, however, going off current form, Leicester fans will fancy their chances of their team picking up all three points.

The third chance Leicester will have of winning the Premier League title this season will come on the final day of the season when they travel to take on the defending champions Chelsea. They will be hoping it does not get that far into the campaign as the Blues have improved in the last third of the season so it will be no easy task for Ranieri’s men in that final game. But Chelsea cannot qualify for Europe, so they may play some of the younger players in their squad for experience.
