Morris Mwenda, 15, was recorded by the Homeless of Nairobi charity group, and articulated his feelings in a remarkable way.
During the clip he asks the Nairobi government to give street children, like himself, access to opportunities. He says: “the street equally harbours talented and knowledgeable families”.
He urged Kenyans not to unfairly judge people like himself, when he said: “Never judge a book by its cover, if you see a street boy do not judge him as a pick-pocketer”.
In a positive end to the story he has now been taken off the streets and has been invited by Chief Justice Willy Mutunga to his office to discuss his dream of becoming a lawyer.
